User Rankings « Result #1 on May 30, 2008, 12:03pm »
The ranking system is designed to reward users for being active members and frequently contributing to discussions. The number of posts required to reach each rank is hidden. The length of time you have been a member also applies in earning ranks. Here, however, is a list of the ranks at this time and the number of avatar stars that come with each (if any new stars are earned), but the qualifications to reach these ranks is left to you to find out!
Newbie (everyone starts out here)
New Member (after a small number of posts this rank is reached and the first star is earned)
Novice (2 stars)
Bronze Poster (3 stars)
Silver Poster (4 stars)
Gold Poster
Platinum Poster! (5 stars)
Posting GOD! (?)
I hope everyone works hard for these incentives! Happy Posting! ---JustinTime

Forum Rules « Result #2 on May 29, 2008, 4:38pm »
Welcome to Cyborg Monkeys! We have but a few simple rules here. If everyone follows these, this can be one big happy place.
1. Spam. It's not that good as food, and we don't like it in our forum. Please don't do it. Spam is posting pointless or annoying messages, or posting something in a Board in which it doesn't belong. A frequent reason for spam is to raise post count for a higer ranking. We can lower it back anyway. Don't waste everyone's time with spam, and we won't waste yours with discipline.
2. We don't like offensive material either. Offensive is a pretty broad term, but we think you know what we mean. (You're gonna have to trust our judgement if you don't.) This includes anything that is ethnically, racially, religiously or sexually offensive, insulting or demeaning. It also includes messages that are harassing or threatening to others. In other words, if you wouldn't like it said about you, don't say it about others.
3. Another pet peeve of mine: lying about your age. You must be at least 13 to join Cyborg Monkeys in the first place. If you're younger than that, you probably shouldn't be playing TimeSplitters games anyway. Do not lie to join. If you are 13 or older, you're old enough, congratulations. No need to lie then. If you do not wish to give away your age to members, don't. But also don't lie about it. Only site administration can view your age, and we promised to keep it private when you signed up. Also, it is true that all Moderators and other staff must be 16 years or older. If you really want that position, wait until you are old enough. If you lie about your age, we will found out and you will be dealt with.
4. Advertisement for other web sites related to TimeSplitters is perfectly fine, as long as it is in the advertisement Board ("Other TS-related Sites") or in your signature. Other advertisement, however, may only be placed in the sig and Admin permission is required first. PM (Private Message) me for such permission.
5. Double posting. Double posting is posting twice in a row in a thread before another member posts. It is frowned upon in most forums, and is annoying and pointless. If you need to change or add something to a post, go back and modify it. There is no need to double post.
So what can the Administration staff do if a member breaks these rules?
Well, we have several tools of enforcement at our disposal. We can delete posts you make that break these rules, or lower your post count. We can place a warning bar in your avatar where everyone can see it, and we can make sure everyone knows if you have a record if you do something really bad. And finally, we reserve the right to delete or ban your account. Bans can be set time limits depending on offense severity, but if your account is deleted, good-bye.
Now, hopefully none of this stuff will be necessary. Just follow the five simple rules and everything will be just peachy. Thanks!

Welcome! « Result #3 on May 29, 2008, 4:16pm »
Welcome to the Cyborg Monkeys online community. This is a part of the Cyborg Monkeys online experience, a (currently incomplete) project by SNUGGLEPUSS! Cartoons based on the TimeSplitters series by EA Games. This forum is for discussion of TimeSplitters, of course, but plenty more as well. Meet other gamers with similar interests, chat with friends in the Off-Topic Board. Build up posts and respect in the community, and you can become a member of the administrating staff!
Thanks for joining us! Please make sure you read the forum rules, and go join the discussion!

Looking for Moderators! « Result #4 on May 29, 2008, 3:52pm »
Moderation is a respected position, as well as a serious one. Anyone interested in becoming a moderator is welcome to apply by PM (Personal Message)-ing the Site Administrator (that's me) with the subject-line, "Moderator Application." But beware: as I said, this is a serious job. Not just anyone can just be a Moderator. The applicant must be an active member in the Cyborg Monkeys community who contributes to discussion. These are positions that should be respected, and therefore will be given to members who can also be respected. As staff members, Moderators are expected to act as a community leader and role model; they must exhibit good behavior as well as following all forum rules. For those interested, here is a brief description of what a Moderator does, as well as his/her privileges.
Job Description: A Moderator is assigned to a Board or section of the forum. He or she is the administrator's eyes and ears in that section or Board. Moderators have the power to move, delete, and split topics or posts, as well as other things, within their Board.
Perks: As a member of the staff, all Moderators are granted access to staff-only boards and VIP areas. Moderators can get a username change with the Admin's approval, and wear a Five-Star user badge similar to an Administrator's.
Duties: Moderators must...well, moderate. Spam must be dealt with properly, flaming/fights must be intervened in, and all violations must be reported to the Administrator. An abuse or neglect of power will be noticed by the Admin; a Moderator-ship can be taken away as quickly as it is given.
Requirements:
The Email address given at registration must be the prospective Moderator's own, personal address and must be able to be checked regularly. All staff must be at least 16 years of age. Note: Lying about age is against forum rules! All staff must be good role models for members, which means strictly obeying all rules. Moderators are required to give a weekly (at least) report of all activity to the administrator. Also, all violations or rule-breaks by members in a Moderator's Board should be reported as soon as possible, as well as any suggestions for what action should be taken.
If you have any questions about Moderating, please feel free to either post a reply to this thread or PM me. Thanks for reading, and I hope to see some new Mod applicants soon.
